The Human Body is Incredible
I think it's serious incredible how much our bodies can handle, how much they can change over time but also what they handle and adapt to in such a short period of time. I am amazed by what my body has been through in the last few years. The drastic changes it has been put through in a small handful of years. I would like to share just what my body has gone through in the last 4 years because thinking about it just blows my mind a little.
It's early 2016, my husband and I have been married since the previous summer and been trying for a baby but also since the wedding I have gained probably 10 pounds. Knowing my left Fallopian tube is blocked my obgyn refers us to a fertility clinic. Getting started with the clinic requires consultations and for me in particular blood work and other somewhat invasive tests.
In the fall of 2016 we start cycle monitoring with the fertility clinic, which involves having blood taken roughly every 1 out of days of the month. After the 2nd month of you got a look at my inner elbow you might think I'm a junkie with all the bruising from having blood taken.
I'm an emotional eater so it's no surprise that i pack on another 10-15 pounds by the end of the year.
After returning home from vacation in Jan of 2017 I weighed in at 210 pounds and I decided that things needed to change because what was doing to my body was NOT okay, and in reality was the exact opposite of what I was supposed to be doing to help conceive a baby.
From our Vacation ----------------------->
In the beginning I did a lot of cycling on and off hard diets combined with running. I set myself a goal of running a half marathon. I soon noticed that I had more energy, I was feeling better, happier, my clothes were fitting better, in a few months people were commenting on my weight loss.
In December of 2017 will in Vegas(or at least around the time we were in Vegas) we managed to get pregnant but had no idea until mid January 2018 when I returned to the clinic with what I thought was the start of my cycle only to be told I was pregnant and I knew right away that I was having a miscarriage. That was hard but I know now that as sad as it is that baby wasn't meant to be because if the pregnancy had continued Adalynne wouldn't exist and imagining that hurts more than the loss we did experience.

Anyway throughout early 2018 we moved forward in the fertility process and was recommended for surgery to have my blocked tube removed and my endometriosis cleaned up. I had that surgery in May 2018. I was told I had to wait one full cycle and they were going to put me on a medication that would put my body into a menopause like state to help regulate my hormones. Well as it turned out we managed to conceive on our own again. When we conceived Adalynne I was in the best shape I had ever bee. In my life, I was the lightest I had ever weighed in my adult life.
^^^^^^Around the time of getting pregnant
Obviously being pregnant put my body through a whole slew of changes over the next 10 months. I gained 80 pounds during pregnancy... There was alot of eating involved 😅

In February 2019 my body went through another intense experience.... Child birth. Between Adalynne and water weight I lost 20 pounds in 4 days 😱 since then I have lost another 30.

One Week After ------->
I remember I was excited when I was able to get back to working out and am proud of the fact that I can lift more now in just about every exercise than I could before getting pregnant even if the scale says I still weigh an extra 25-30 pounds 🤷🏼♀️
Christmas 2019 --------------------->
I guess my point is our bodies are capable of some incredible things, they can handle much, much more then we give them credit for, than we think they can.
Stop doubting yourself and take charge because you are capable of much more than you think you are! 🥰
